Affect of MLS Laser Therapy on Plantar Fasciitis

Study Objective:

This study aimed to determine the effects of MLS Laser Therapy on 20 patients suffering from plantar fasciitis. Patients were treated for 6 sessions, at 7 minutes per session in a DPM office.


80% of patients reported improvement in symptoms with an average decrease in VAS of 3.6. Fascial thickness (measured via sonography) decreased from 0.48cm to 0.43cm. MLS is an option in the treatment of musculoskeletal inflammatory conditions specifically plantar fasciitis.
