Case Study: Achille, a European Shorthair Cat with Chronic Gingivostomatitis

Clinical Case

Reported for chronic recurrent gingivostomatitis unresponsive to medications.
Reported pain when picking up food, bad breath, and drooling.
The owner reports a shy demeanour with a tendency to hide when the pain increases.
Recent weight loss and poor coat quality.

Previously treated with antibiotic therapy (amoxicillin and clavulanic acid) with no signs of improvement.

Therapeutic Protocol

MLS® Laser Therapy: “Gingivitis-Stomatitis” programs in Point-to-Point mode on the gums and jaws, 0.8 cm diameter lens.

Treatment frequency: three times a week for two weeks then twice a week for a further two weeks.
Maintenance recommended.

Results

Rapid resolution of pain after the first session and significant improvement in inflammation after 6 sessions.
