This study presents the use of laser therapy in the treatment of lower back pain caused by osteoarthritis in 45 patients who received 8 treatment sessions. Researchers objectively analyzed the evolution of pain and the improvement of general condition of patients including changes in the mobility of the lumbar spine.

Results suggests that low-power laser is effective in treating chronic lower back pain produce by osteoarthritis. The results of pain relief were significant, avoiding sick leave and taking painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs in the case of most patients.
