MLS® Laser Therapy Case Study
Isostar, a Horse with Wound Dehiscence
Species: Equine
Breed: Belgian Draught
Gender: Male
Age: 15 years old

Description
- Referral due to a lacerated wound on the foreskin.
- Surgery two years previously to remove a sarcoid, the wound appeared during an examination of the previous surgery area (scar tissue).
- At the first clinical examination, the wound was 10 cm and included the deep layers of the foreskin.
Therapeutic Protocol
- MLS® Laser Therapy with EVO device: 6 treatments, 2/3 days apart.
- “Wound” points program (8 points).
- Salicylic acid powder was applied locally between treatment sessions.
Results
Following the formation of new pedunculated sarcoids that appeared on the opposite side of the foreskin (which detached spontaneously shortly afterwards), the laser treatment was stopped and only local dressings with salicylic acid powder were continued.
Full recovery occurred after 38 days.
